Clients FAQ's
Q: Why are your prices so high?
A: Although your session may only last 1-3 hours I put in more than 10 hours from beginning to end. I am a legitimate business as well, which includes me paying for taxes, insurance, professional equipment, learning opportunities and so much more. I am not a chain store, I am a professional custom portrait photographer.
Q: Why don't you give a copyright release? I've seen other photographers give that.
A: I retain the copyright to all images produced. I do give print releases which allows you to print your images for personal use.
Q: Why can't I copy my images off of your website/blog?
A: I have disabled right-clicking on my sites because the images are protected by copyright.
The copyright act protects the photographer by giving the author (creator) of the photograph the exclusive right to copy, edit, and distribute the image by sale or transfer. These exclusive rights make it illegal to copy, scan, edit or share photographic prints and digital media without the photographer's permission. Violators of this Federal Law will be subject to its civil and criminal penalties. Be sure to discuss your copyright needs or questions with me; reasonable requests may be accommodated.
Q: Do you have a studio?
A: I have a space in my dining room that I use as my studio area.
Q: I want on-location what is the best time or weather conditions?
A: The best time on a nice sunny day is 2 hours before sunset or 2 hours after sunrise. If it's a cloudy day anytime is a great time. Overcast days act as a natural diffuser for a nice soft light all over.
